Notes
- Will of John Dyson of Feckenham Wor Dated 6th July 1720
I John Dyson of the Parish of Feckenham Wor, in the County of Worcester, Husbandman, being weak and infirm in body, but of perfect memory and understanding, praised be given to Almighty God for the same. Do make my last will and testament followeth;
First and principally, I humbly condemn my Soul to Almighty God my creator, assuredly believing by the above merits of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, to revise full pardon and free remission of all my sins, and my body to the earth, from where it came, decently to be interred at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named and as to such temporal estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I dispose thereof in manner and form following:
After my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid and discharged, I give, devise and bequeath all my money, goods, cattle, chattels and personal effects whatsoever unto Alice, my dearly beloved wife for so long as she shall continue a widow and unmarried, but in case she shall marry again, I give and bequeath all my said personal effects to my 5 children, John, William, Hannah, Sarah and Mary, to my son John first having, having £10 if he shall be a dutiful son to his mother. And my will is that all my personal effects, or value thereof shall be deposed and paid to my children immediately after such marriage. And in case either of my said children shall depart this life before such marriage of my said wife, then I give and bequeath the share of such child or children dying to the survivors equally to be divided. And in the case my said wife shall not after my death be married again and shall depart this life a widow, then I give and bequeath all my personal effects absolutely, to my said wife and to have sole disposal. I make institute and appoint my said wife full and sole executrix of this my last will and testament, and do revoke all other wills. In witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal, the 6th day of July 1720, and in the 6th year of the Reign of King George of Great Britain.
