Notes

  • Will of Samuel Dyson of Sambourne Warwickshire 25th March 1757

    In the name of God, Amen. I Samuel Dyson of Sambourne, if the Parish of Great Coughton, in the County of Warwick, Yeoman, being weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding, praised be Almighty God for the same and seriously reflecting upon the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of this life do make and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner following;

    First of all I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, hoping through the merits of his son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ, to receive full pardon of all my sins, and my body to the last, to be buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named. And as to what worldly estate it hath pleased God to bless me with, after payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses, I give, devise and bequeath the same unto my loving wife, Ann, as her own proper goods and chattels, and my further will is that , if there shall be anything left after the death of my said loving wife, then the same to be equally divided amongst such children of my brother Walter, which shall be then living. And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said loving wife, Ann Dyson, sole executrix of this my last will, hereby revoking and making absolutely void all other will or wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof , those hereunto setting hand and seal this 26th March in the year of our Lord 1757.
