Notes
- Will of William Dyson of Stock and Bradley 1722
In the name of God, Amen. I William Dyson of Stock and Bradley, in the County of Worcester, Yeoman, being weak in body but of sound and disposing memory and understanding, praised be to God, for this, and considering the uncertainty of Life, do make, constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following:
I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, my maker hoping through the meritous death and passion of Jesus Christ, my only Saviour and redeemer, to receive and pardon the forgiveness of all my sins, and to inherit everlasting. My body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executrix hereafter named, and as touching the Temporal Estate that it has pleased God to bestow on me, and I dispose thereof as followeth;
I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Dyson, one part of my personal estate. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Mary Dyson, a second part of my personal estate. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Ann Dyson, a third part of my personal estate. I give and bequeath to my son, William Dyson, a fourth part of my personal estate. I give and bequeath to my loving wife, Anne Dyson, a fifth and sixth part of my personal estate, that is o say, when my personal estate shall be appraised and valued, my wife, Ann Dyson, to have a double share proportionately to the share of my four children, Thomas, Mary, Ann and William, and that each of these my children shall receive their part thereof as they shall personally attain the age of 21 years. My will, then, is that if any of my children shall die, his or her share shall be equally divided amongst my surviving Children. But provided there shall be any of the debts left my will then is that whatever is left shall be proportionately born between my said wife and children.
And lastly, I make and constitute and appoint my loving wife Anne Dyson sole executrix of this my last will and testament, paying any debts, legacies and funeral expenses and my will is that if my wife should marry again she is still to pay all bills etc. Before mentioned to the satisfaction of Mr William Cleveland and Mr John who I appoint trustees. Signed this 29th day of April 1722.
